
According to Beidou data, China’s new energy heavy truck market recorded sales of 122,666 units from January to June 2026, up 86.48% year on year. XCMG ranked first in overall new-energy heavy-truck sales with 19,206 units, representing a 91.3% increase. The company also secured the top position in the new energy tractor market, selling 14,942 units, up 94% year on year.

As the heavy truck industry accelerates its transition toward electrification, XCMG has continued to strengthen its position through application-focused development, technology innovation and ecosystem collaboration. XCMG has long focused on medium- and short-distance transportation applications, including mines, ports and steel plants, where operating efficiency, energy consumption and vehicle reliability are critical. To improve charging efficiency, XCMG is advancing megawatt-level ultra-fast charging technology to support faster energy replenishment.

In March, an XCMG pure electric heavy truck equipped with the company's self-developed core technologies completed a 1,035 km road test in 13 hours and 20 minutes, arriving one hour ahead of the required schedule. Each charging session during the journey was completed within 20 minutes. Overall operating costs for the test were calculated to be 37% lower than those of a conventional diesel truck and 16% lower than an LNG model.
Behind this performance is XCMG's vertically integrated new energy technology system, covering battery cells, battery PACK systems, high-voltage controllers, thermal management, electric drive axles and vehicle control systems. Its ultra-fast charging technology has achieved a charging rate of up to 3.5C. A 352 kWh battery can be charged from 10% to 90% in as little as 17 minutes under suitable conditions.

Reliability remains another key focus for commercial vehicle users. XCMG new energy heavy trucks feature high-protection technologies for the motor, electronic control system and battery, helping improve durability in demanding operating environments. High regenerative braking torque also reduces reliance on mechanical braking during long downhill operations, helping lower brake wear and improve driving safety. Lightweight materials, including aluminum-magnesium alloy, high-strength steel and liquid die-forged components, are used to balance structural strength and vehicle weight.

For users, the value of new energy heavy trucks ultimately depends on operating economics. Lower energy consumption, reduced operating costs, improved charging efficiency, and reliable performance can directly support higher transport efficiency and profitability. At the same time, electric heavy trucks provide drivers with a quieter and more comfortable operating environment.
