Implementing
regular maintenance on excavators aims to reduce the failure rate and extend
the equipment's service life, as well as shorten downtime, improve work
efficiency, and effectively control operating costs. This requires refined
management in a number of areas:
Firstly,
the management of fuel is crucial. According to the different temperatures of
the operating environment, select the corresponding grade of diesel fuel to
ensure the maximisation of fuel efficiency. It is strictly prohibited to mix
impurities, ash and water in diesel fuel, otherwise it will accelerate the wear
and tear of the fuel pump. Poor quality fuel will cause damage to the engine
due to high paraffin and sulphur content. Therefore, you should fill up the
fuel after daily operation to prevent water beads from condensing on the inner
wall of the fuel tank, and open the drain valve at the bottom of the fuel tank
to remove the accumulated water before operation. After exhausting the fuel or
replacing the filter element, it is also necessary to completely empty the air
in the pipeline to ensure the smooth supply of fuel.
Secondly,
the management of other oils should not be neglected. Engine oil, hydraulic
oil, gear oil, etc. need to be strictly differentiated, shall not be mixed,
because all types of oil containing different additives, mixed will affect its
performance. In the selection, should ensure that the oil is clean, to avoid
mixing any impurities, and according to the ambient temperature and the
specific purpose of the selection of the appropriate standard oil. For example,
high-temperature environment to choose a high viscosity oil, low temperature
and vice versa; gear oil needs to withstand a large transmission load, the
viscosity is relatively large; hydraulic oil to reduce the flow resistance, the
viscosity is relatively small.
The
maintenance of lubricating grease is equally critical. The use of lubricating
oil (grease) can significantly reduce the wear of moving parts and reduce
noise. When storing and selecting grease, it is necessary to ensure that the
grease is clean and avoid mixing dust, sand, moisture and other impurities. It
is recommended to use lithium-based grease G2-L1, which has superior anti-wear
performance and is suitable for heavy-duty working conditions. When refilling,
the old oil should be squeezed out thoroughly to keep the refilling area clean
and prevent sand from adhering and affecting the lubrication effect.
In
addition, regular replacement and maintenance of the filter element is also
vital. The filter element plays the role of filtering impurities in the oil or
air circuit to prevent them from invading the internal system and causing
malfunction. Therefore, all types of filter elements should be replaced
regularly in strict accordance with the requirements of the Operation and
Maintenance Manual. When replacing, it is necessary to check whether there are
metal particles on the old filter element, once found, it is necessary to
immediately analyse the reason and take improvement measures. At the same time,
the use of pure filter element in line with the specifications of the machine
should be avoided to avoid the use of shoddy products, because of the poor
filtration capacity of shoddy filter element, the material and structure are
not up to standard, will seriously affect the performance of the excavator.
To
sum up, the maintenance of excavator is a systematic project, which requires
comprehensive management from fuel, other oils, lubricating grease to
cartridge, etc., to ensure that the excavator operates efficiently, stably and
safely, and to provide a strong guarantee for the smooth progress of the
project.
