Maintenance of aerial working platform battery is the key to ensure the efficient operation and safe use of the equipment. With the enhancement of environmental awareness and strict emission standards, the market demand for pure electric aerial work platforms is growing, and the battery, as its core component, has a direct impact on the performance and life of the equipment.
First of all, it is crucial to keep the battery clean and dry. Regularly check the top of the battery and terminal connections to ensure that there is no dust or corrosion. If found dirty, can use a wet cloth or brush with baking soda water solution for cleaning, followed by a thorough drying, to avoid moisture penetration into the battery.
Second, the battery cables, terminals and wires are carefully inspected, oxidized corrosion is removed in time, and damaged parts are repaired or replaced. At the same time, observe whether there is any deformation or heating phenomenon of the battery cover, and deal with it immediately to eliminate potential risks.
Liquid level management is also an important part of maintenance. It is recommended to check the electrolyte level once a week to ensure it is within the appropriate range. If the fluid level is too low, distilled water or deionized water should be replenished in time, but avoid overflowing and corroding the battery box and cables.
Normative operation should be followed when charging. The battery should be fully charged after each use to avoid deep discharge. It is recommended to charge when the charge is between 35% and 80% and avoid discharging more than 80% of the capacity within 5 hours. Charging should be carried out in a well-ventilated area without open flame, and observe the gas emission phenomenon at the end of charging.
When storing batteries for a long period of time, they should be fully charged first and stored in a cool, dry place protected from the weather. During storage, they should be disconnected from the equipment, and the electrolyte specific gravity or battery voltage should be checked every 4 to 6 weeks, and supplemental charging should be performed if necessary. Before installing the machine, the battery should be recharged to ensure its performance.
Finally, always pay attention to safety when maintaining batteries. Wear protective work clothes, gloves and goggles to avoid direct contact with metal objects. Monitor the temperature of the battery during use to ensure that it does not exceed 60°C and that it is kept away from potential sources of ignition such as sparks and flames. If the electrolyte is splashed on the skin or eyes, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention as appropriate. When clothing is contaminated, it should be taken off and rinsed in a timely manner. When the electrolyte is leaked, it should be treated quickly with a neutralizer and flushed with a large amount of water to ensure the safety of the environment.
In summary, through scientific and reasonable maintenance measures, can significantly extend the service life of aerial working platform battery, improve the working efficiency and safety of the equipment.
