I believe that many customers who own excavators have more or less seen various accidents occurring when the excavator is loading and unloading the pallet truck. Here we will talk about the precautions when transporting the excavator and loading and unloading the truck.
Transportation
When transporting the machine on a trailer, there is a risk of personal injury or death during transportation. Do the following.
• Be sure to check machine dimensions carefully. Machine weight, transport height, and overall length will vary depending on the work equipment installed.
• Pre-check that all bridges and other structural members of the haul route are strong enough to withstand the combined weight of the trailer and the machine being transported.
• The machine can be transported in parts, so when transporting the machine, please contact your dealer to do this.
Loading and unloading
When loading and unloading the machine, incorrect operation may cause the risk of the machine tipping or falling, so special attention is required. Be sure to do the following.
• Only load and unload trucks on solid, level ground. Keep a safe distance from the edge of a road or cliff.
• Do not use work equipment to load or unload the machine. Doing so creates the risk of the machine falling or tipping over.
• Be sure to use a springboard of adequate strength. Make sure the ramp is wide, long and thick enough to provide a safe slope for loading and unloading. Measures should be taken to prevent the springboard from shifting or falling off.
• Make sure the ramp surface is clean and free of grease, oil, ice and loose material. Remove dirt from the machine tracks. Especially on rainy days, special care should be taken as the surface of the springboard is slippery.
